TikTok Funnels Billions of Views to Trans Agenda
By Movieguide® Staff
As Facebook faced backlash from the media and legislators, TikTok exploded onto the social media scene and became one of the most popular social media apps among teenagers and young adults.
However, the video-sharing app does not shy away from pushing agendas and worldviews contrary to the Bible.
Research conducted by the Daily Mail found that TikTok videos that included the hashtag #Trans earned over 26 billion views.
According to the report, most videos depicted testimonials from teenagers who had transitioned or modified their bodies to appear like the opposite sex.
If there were any doubts about the app’s popularity, 2021 put them to rest. Last year, TikTok—owned by the Beijing-based technology company ByteDance—passed Google as the most popular web domain.
Forrester Research noted that TikTok is more popular than Instagram and Snapchat among the Gen Z demographic.
TikTok is not shy about its promotion of the transgender agenda.
Stephanie Davies-Arai of Transgender Trend said that TikTok is “hugely influential and it’s full of videos that portray medical transition as cool and edgy.”
“Gender is seen as the new rebellion,” she added. “These social media platforms that promote medical transition should be made to include a warning on such material.”
“Our content allows young LGBTQ+ people to know that they are not alone in their experiences,” a TikTok spokesperson said of the pro-LGBTQ+ videos.

TikTok is yet another example of why media discernment is essential for parents and children. However, as algorithms grow increasingly advanced, media wisdom becomes more difficult.

CEO of Enough is Enough Donna Rice Hughes noted that even media discerning children are at risk of being manipulated by algorithms or shown unsolicited, explicit material.
“First of all, where kids play, predators prey,” Hughes said. “Understand that even your good, smart and careful kids are not safe on these platforms. Some of these companies have taken some steps, but it’s not enough.”
