Former NFL Star Calls on Men to Live Out This God-Given Purpose

Tim Tebow is calling on men to step up and be “mighty” in their family lives and communities.
“We’re called to be protectors, and one of the reasons that this evil is so great is the protectors have been the perpetrators,” he said in a recent Instagram video. “For my 37th birthday, I was reminded that David…had approximately 37 mighty men. These mighty men were protectors. They were warriors. They were fighters for good.”
Tebow continued, “In Hebrew for mighty man, the word is ‘gibbor.’ For just a male, just a man, it was ‘ish.’ And I want to say that, as a challenge to all of us because I believe that the Bible challenges us and calls us to be protectors.”
In the video’s caption, he wrote, “These men were willing to put it all on the line to protect and serve their king. In the same way, would we be “mighty men” today, willing to put it all on the line for King Jesus? Would we fight for those who can’t fight for themselves? Would we, as men, stand in the gap for hurting people? Will you help identify and rescue children who have been sexually exploited?”
Tebow’s Tim Tebow Foundation is committed to fighting human trafficking.
“Women, children, and men are being captured, exploited, and abused on a daily basis in every country around the world,” the foundation’s website reads. “The statistics are overwhelming, but hope is not lost. The Tim Tebow Foundation is committed to advancing this fight for the millions who have been trafficked, exploited and/or who are at risk of becoming victims.”
Speaking about his mission, Tebow said, “We’ve been in this fight for over 10 years, since my dad was overseas and able to purchase the freedom of four little girls and I just knew that day that I was called to fight for the most vulnerable and that’s what we’re trying to do and we’re fortunate to do that in 90 countries around the world to fight for the MVPs: the world’s most vulnerable people.”

Tim Tebow is doing all he can to rescue sexually exploited children, and he isn’t stopping anytime soon.
The former NFL star shared about a new campaign whose goal is to rescue these children.
“For too long, child sexual exploitation has been hidden in the darkness of the internet. It’s an evil that has decimated the lives of so many children,” Tebow said in a statement.
The name of his campaign stems from one thing: there’s still much work to do.
“This year’s campaign is called unKNOWN and unFINISHED because while we are grateful for the last year of momentum, there are still hundreds of thousands of boys and girls in despair,” Tebow said of the campaign on World Day Against Trafficking. “This year, we’re asking for people to stand with us to continue this fight to reach, protect, and love every child who is waiting to be identified and rescued.”
