Tim Tebow Encourages Fans to Reject Fear, Follow God’s Calling Instead

Former NFL star Tim Tebow took to Instagram to encourage his fans to follow God’s calling in their lives.
“Do you feel like God is instructing you to do something that makes no sense? Are you afraid that if you start doing it, people will judge and criticize you? Remember that things that seem impossible with man are possible with God!” he began.
“Success starts with a mindset shift,” he continued. “Let go of yesterday’s disappointments and focus on the now.”
Part of focusing on “the now” means moving forward even when setbacks come.
“Consistency isn’t about perfection!” Tebow said. “Setbacks happen. You illustrate consistency when your heart wants to make the right choice, your will chooses the discipline, and you put forth focused action to get it done.”
However, the former quarterback knows that choosing discipline is easier said than done.
“You know those days when the alarm clock goes off and you think, ‘I don’t want to get up. I don’t want to do this.’ But we don’t have to live by our emotions,” Tebow reminded his followers. “We get to choose our convictions. Some days we might not feel grateful, especially when adversity hits. But we can choose to be grateful, even in the midst of it. Watch how that can change your day!”
He concluded by encouraging his followers to push through the fear and trust that God is good and has a plan for their lives.
“Don’t let fear cripple you from making a decision, pursuing a passion, or seizing an opportunity. ‘So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand.’ -Isaiah 41:10,” Tebow wrote.
Tebow frequently shares how his followers can discover God’s plan for their lives.
“Most of us want to trust God’s plan for our lives…We want to live lives of purpose and meaning,” he wrote. “But in order to experience all of the love God has to offer us, we have to make the decision to meet Him in the middle and spend time cultivating a relationship with Him every day! That’s how we get to know Him. And that’s how we learn how to make Him known through our lives.”
He also encourages his followers to be the best they can by relying on God.
“No matter what the day holds, no matter what lies in store for us, let’s do our best to crush it,” he posted on Instagram. “Let’s love hard, live well, exercise our faith, pray boldly, run the extra mile, make better decisions and sacrifice a little more.”

“Growing up, I always wanted people to like me,” Tebow wrote. “I was what you would call a people pleaser. Today, while I still strive to do good things for others as we all should, I’ve come to realize that our main audience in life isn’t other people. It’s God.
“Be motivated not by what other people think about you but by what God thinks about you!” he concluded.
