Marvel’s latest attempt to reach young audiences, IRON MAN AND HIS AWESOME FRIENDS, will have a 2025 debut on Disney+ and Disney Jr.
Marvel “announced a push into the preschool entertainment space with a new animated series Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends. The series from Disney Branded Television and Marvel will debut on Disney+ and Disney Jr. in 2025,” The Hollywood Reporter said.
The show follows young Tony Stark and his close friends Riri Williams (Ironheart) and Amadeus Cho (Iron Hulk) as they save the day in their city. Mason Blomberg will voice little Iron Man, Aidyn Ahn will voice Iron Hulk and Kapri Ladd will take on the role of Ironheart.
The little heroes are not without their sidekick, Gamma, who has her own Iron Pup suit. The Iron Friends special items include Iron Man’s nano-shield and Ironheart’s heartbeat Bubble. And Iron Hulk has a couple of cool powers: the Iron Hulk stomp and Iron boom clap.
“Iron Man is the character that launched Marvel Studios and will always be especially beloved here as the hero that made the MCU possible,” said Brad Winderbaum, head of streaming, television and animation at Marvel Studios. “That’s why we’re so excited to partner with the incredible team at Disney Branded Television and bring Iron Man to a new audience. Together we are building a series that introduces the most brilliant scientists and inventors in the Marvel Universe as they share in fun armored adventures.”
The company hopes to spark interest in its franchise early with its fun set of animated heroes.
“We’re thrilled to introduce Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends to preschoolers on Disney Jr. and Disney+, expanding their connection to the iconic Marvel universe,” said Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television. “Partnering with Brad and the Marvel Studios team on this series allows us to bring the incredible legacy of Iron Man to a whole new generation, sparking young imaginations with characters that embody courage, teamwork, and creativity.”
Last month, Movieguide® reported on another Marvel Studios project, SPIDER-MAN 4:
It seems the fourth movie in the Tom Holland-led SPIDER-MAN series is underway as director Destin Daniel Cretton has been picked to helm the movie.
Cretton previously directed SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS and has been working on creating a sequel to that movie. Cretton will be taking over the franchise from Jon Watts who directed the previous three movies…
The return to the franchise may end up being a major milestone for Holland. He took a year off of acting for the sake of his mental health after wrapping production on THE CROWDED ROOM, and SPIDER-MAN 4 may prove to be his first project since returning.
