TODAY Host Shares Powerful Message of God’s Love Just for Kids

TODAY show host Savannah Guthrie is set to release a children’s book that shares the love of God with young readers.
Titled “Mostly What God Does is Love You,” the book shares stories of faith with children. Guthrie shared more about the book in a video posted to Instagram.
“If you remember earlier this year I released a book, it was called ‘Mostly What God Does,'” she explained. “There were essays about the power of faith in our lives. Well now we’re going to have a picture book for the little ones…it’s filled with illustrations that showcase the wonders of nature and how God adores us.”
The caption of the post reads, “‘Mostly What God Does is Love You’ reminds children (and adults) of God’s great love for them, how very cherished they are by the creator of the universe, and how in turn, they can share that same love by being kind and compassionate to others.”
Fans expressed their excitement for the book in the comments. “That’s the kind of joy we want to spread in the world???” one person said. Another user added, “I love this and it sends such a beautiful message. God does love us…all of us…just as we are ❤️”
Her children’s book will hit stores February 2025.

Guthrie’s adult version of the book, “Mostly What God Does: Reflections on Seeking and Finding His Love Everywhere,” released earlier this year.
“I’m not writing this book from some mountaintop where I’ve received some wisdom, and now I’m imparting it to the world,” she told TODAY. “No, I’m still down here, struggling. Still down here, disappointing myself. I’m still down here, needing faith, needing grace, needing mercy, needing love. That’s why I wrote the book — because I’m the person that needs to read it. And so I thought, if I do, then maybe others do, too.”
