Tom Holland Claims Upcoming Spider-Man Movie is the ‘Most Ambitious Standalone Superhero Film Ever’

The newest actor to portray the witty comic book hero Spider-Man, Tom Holland, is known for giving away spoilers for major Marvel movies in his excitement.
While Holland hasn’t dropped any hints about the upcoming SPIDER-MAN movie, he believes the hero’s next movie is “the most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever made.”
“You sit down, read the script, and see what they’re trying to do, and they’re succeeding,” Holland said in a recent podcast interview with Variety. “It’s really impressive. I’ve never seen a standalone superhero movie quite like it.”
The newest installation is the third in the series after 2017’s SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING and 2019’s SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME and is set to release Dec. 17.
“We got a lot more shooting to do,” Holland said. “We started before Christmas and shot for like seven weeks. We stopped for the Christmas break, and then we’re starting again. I’m just as excited as everyone else to see it, let alone be a part of it.”
Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, Jamie Foxx, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Alfred Molina will star alongside Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
Holland’s second SPIDER-MAN flick, SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME, was selected as one of the Best Movies for Mature Audiences in 2019.
