Jaguars QB Celebrates Wife’s Strength Through Baby Girl’s Birth: ‘Champ’

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and his wife, Marissa, recently added their baby girl, Shae, to their little family.
“We’re still adjusting,” Lawrence told PEOPLE while at the Super Bowl, “but it’s just been awesome.” The couple welcomed their baby on Jan. 4.
The athlete opened up about how Shae has changed their day-to-day life.
“She’s great, I mean, it definitely just changes your perspective; changes how you operate just on a day-to-day basis. The whole day obviously revolves around just one person you’re taking care of now, so it’s just, life’s different, but it’s amazing,” he explained.

Lawrence celebrated his wife’s strength through the birth experience, saying Shae “was not a small baby, so Marissa’s a champ.”
Their daughter came into the world at 10 lbs., 2 oz.
“Seeing her go through that, and now she’s recovered and feeling great — it’s pretty amazing to see your partner go through that,” the quarterback said of his wife.
Marissa celebrated one month with their daughter in a Feb. 1 Instagram post.
“Lots of snuggles and days spent in our pjs! You are so sweet and becoming more playful and aware,” she wrote.
“We love watching you grow up. We love holding you and rocking you to sleep,” she added. “We love bath time and walks outside! You are the most perfect girl and always smiling. Mommy and daddy love you so much.”
“In that newborn stage, they develop so quick, they grow so quick,” Lawrence said of watching Shae grow. “It’s just, every day she’s more alert. You can tell, she’s starting to figure out a little bit of what’s going on.”
