Universal Illuminates Christmas with Animation Party

By Evy Baehr, Executive Managing Editor MOVIEGUIDE®

Christmas time is a wonderful to join with friends and family and appreciate all the good that has happened over the last year.

Movieguide® had the opportunity to attend the Christmas party hosted by Universal Pictures for Chris Meledandri, the founder of Illumination Entertainment, who has fast become a major force in the animation world, with movies like the Movieguide® Award winning “Despicable Me” series, “Ice Age:  The Meltdown,” and many more.

This year, Illumination made the most profitable animated movie, THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS, and for Christmas, the entire family can enjoy SING.

Movieguide® also talked to Garth Jennings, writer and co-director of SING. After being asked if his children would want to be in Hollywood as well, Garth revealed his children played the little piglets in SING and “were perfect for the role.”
