Wallace And Gromit Are Back In Netflix’s VENGEANCE MOST FOWL
By Movieguide® Contributor
Wallace and Gromit are back! The first teaser trailer for their latest adventure, WALLACE & GROMIT: VENGEANCE MOST FOWL, was just released.
The Hollywood Reporter shared a brief plot synopsis of the Netflix movie: “In the new movie, Gromit’s concern that Wallace is becoming too dependent on his inventions proves justified when Wallace invents a ‘smart’ gnome that seems to develop a mind of its own, per the release. When it emerges that Feathers McGraw might be masterminding things, it falls to Gromit to battle sinister forces and save his master… or Wallace may never be able to invent again!”
BBC shared the movie’s cast, which includes Ben Whitehead as Wallace and Peter Kay as Chief Inspector Macintosh, as well as cameos from Diane Morgan, Adjoa Andoh, Muzz Khan, and Lenny Henry.
Director and creator Nick Park spoke to Variety about the movie’s plot, explaining, “I had this idea knocking around since CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT, because gnomes have always been a part of Wallace and Gromit world.”
“I was planning a short film, maybe a Christmas BBC half-hour or something,” he continued. “But I had struggles with what would motivate the gnomes. For years, people had asked, ‘Would you ever bring Feathers back?’ but I couldn’t think of a context for it. Suddenly, it seemed that would be the perfect story solution.”

Park also marveled at the longevity of his most famous characters, saying, “I used to dream that one day they might be known.”
He added that, when he began work on CHICKEN RUN, another beloved claymation movie from the filmmaker, he was “not confident about stop-motion on the big screen back then” — clearly, things paid off for Park!
WALLACE & GROMIT: VENGEANCE MOST FOWL will premiere on Netflix January 3, 2025.
