Want More CHOSEN? Here’s a New Way to Dig Into the Hit Show

Dallas and Amanda Jenkins have announced a new interactive Bible study inspired by Season 4 of THE CHOSEN.
The Bible study, titled “God’s Goodness for the Chosen,” is a “companion guide” for the fourth season of the show, “teaching readers how to reframe their hardships and see them as fertile soil for God’s goodness to grow in their lives,” per a press release.
“God’s Goodness for the Chosen” shares eight lessons with readers “which reveal how God uses suffering to bring about good things in the lives of those He loves.”
Some of the topics discussed in the Bible study include grief, eternal things, the power of love over heartbreak and the fullness of God’s plan.
“Readers will be challenged to embrace the hard things of life, to experience more of the goodness God offers on the other side,” the release states.
The lessons shared in “God’s Goodness for the Chosen” correspond to topics covered in THE CHOSEN’s fourth season, which creator Dallas Jenkins previously said is “increasingly heavy.”
“I know that’s not necessarily the best advertisement for a show to say that this season is going to be — to have a lot of sadness. But I think it’s an important part of the story,” he told Fox News.
Jenkins continued, “Now, I will say also there’s lots of joy, there’s lots of laughter, there’s lots of miracles that we get to experience…the tension is mounting and the enemies are starting to close in. As we reach the midway point of the show, we start to head towards what we all know is coming.”
THE CHOSEN’s cast and crew are currently hard at work on Season 5.
“You know, there’s some really great Bible moments in this season: This is when Jesus really faces off against the religious leaders,” Jenkins told Variety. “He has a lot of truth bombs, a lot of mic-drop moments.”
He continued, “This is actually going to be a season that is in some ways kind of cool and kind of fun, even though [the viewers] know what’s coming and it’s definitely got a lot of weight over it. But we just couldn’t have three seasons in a row with nothing but pain and loss and misery. Season 5 is kind of the kick-butt moments before Season 6, where we’re not going to shy away from the misery.”
Movieguide® previously reported on Season 5:
THE CHOSEN has been renewed for Season 5 and will begin filming next month.
“Cameras will begin rolling on THE CHOSEN Season 5 in Utah starting April 11; the series will shoot there for six weeks before shifting to the show’s home base in Texas for the remainder of the production,” Variety reported.
The show’s creator, Dallas Jenkins, told Variety, “The response to Season 4 has been overwhelming so far, which provides a nice lift for us as we head into filming. Of course, we’re about to try to portray the most famous week in the history of humans, so the euphoria from the previous season never lasts long. The entire Season 6 will cover one day, so covering one week in Season 5 feels luxurious.”
Season 5 will pick up right after Season 4 at the beginning of Holy Week.
“This is when the plot thickens, and Lazarus will be hiding at this point because of what’s happened in Season 4,” Jenkins explained. “We are covering in Season 5 the most important week in history. Season 6 is the most important day in history.”
