By Movieguide® Contributor
Worship artists Brooke Ligertwood and Brandon Lake debuted a new song on THE KELLY CLARKSON SHOW off of Ligertwood’s first solo worship album, SEVEN. The GRAMMY-nominated artist shared the video on her Instagram page, stating:
Thank you @kellyclarkson for so graciously having @brandonlake and the team and I on your wonderful show today and allowing us to share our song from SEVEN that hopefully served up a sweet dose of comfort, a reminder or a bright spot of hope for many who either tuned in on purpose today OR just happened to see it wherever they were – in medical waiting rooms, truck stops, staff break rooms, etc.
What an honour. ♥️

Movieguide® previously reported on Maverick City Music’s appearance on THE KELLY CLARKSON SHOW, which also featured Brandon Lake in the group performing the single “Breathe.”
Ligertwood’s song, “Honey In the Rock” is a soulful declaration of God’s presence and the purpose He has for people’s lives. The lyrics are based on Psalm 81:15-16, when David advised his people to follow the Lord and He “would feed you with the finest of the wheat, and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.” The lyrics begin:
There’s honey in the rock
Water in the stone
Manna on the ground
No matter where I go
I don’t need to worry now that I know
Everything I need You’ve got
There’s honey in the rock
Praying for a miracle
Thirsty for the living well
Only You can satisfy
Sweetness at the mercy seat
Now I’ve tasted, it’s not hard to see
Only You can satisfy
Ligertwood ends by singing “Oh, how sweet it is to trust in you Jesus.”
Fellow artist Phil Wickham and Passion City Church pastors Louie and Shelley Giglio each offered congratulations under Ligertwood’s Instagram post, and author/actress/evangelist Priscilla Shirer shared her excitement about the performance: “YAWL BETTER WORSHIP HIM ON NATIONAL TV!!!! ???????? That’s what I’m talking about!!!!
Singer Jackie Hill Perry admitted what probably many followers of Ligertwood’s music can relate to – that she has been pronouncing Ligertwood’s name wrong: “I’ve definitely been saying Lye-Gert-Wood in my head this whole time. Oops. ?”
