Some parents might wait to get their kids a car until they can drive, but HGTV stars Ben and Erin Napier just got their 7-year-old daughter Helen a truck.
“That’s Helen’s first car. Yeah, she’s spoiled rotten, isn’t she? I’m just spoiling her left and right, I know, but we’re going to rebuild it,” he joked as a picture of a 1940s truck popped up on the screen behind them.
“It’s going to be a project to do together,” Erin explained.
“I told Erin, ‘She’s going to eventually be driving. We have to start think about this,'” added Ben.
Making old things beautiful again is what the Napiers love.
The move goes along with the Napier’s passion to renovate old things and make them beautiful. Cars and homes aren’t the Napier’s only things they renovate.
Recently, the family began a project on a greenhouse and garden to share with their daughters.
“The Napiers are no strangers to tackling a project, but the greenhouse and garden Ben built for his wife, Erin, and their young daughters, Helen and Mae, was especially personal,” Southern Living wrote about the project on Instagram.
“We both want our kids to grow up with a love of gardening,” Ben said. “We want them to know how to do all the stuff our parents and the generations before them did. It was a big part of growing up and feels like something that has been lost in the last couple of decades.”
Fans commented with excitement over the new project. “Aw love these two! What a perfect greenhouse,” one user said. Another person added, “My favorite HGTV stars!!!!”
The HOME TOWN stars want to share all they do with their daughters.
“I want to teach our girls why we do what we do,” Erin explained. ‘Why do we care so much about restoring old houses?…It’s a very strange career we found ourselves in, and we want the girls to be a part of our life in every way.”
So maybe a new truck for a 7-year-old isn’t far-fetched. It’s a fun opportunity for a family to spend sweet moments together.
