We’re Thrilled to See These WHEN CALLS THE HEART Stars Team Up Again

Two WHEN CALLS THE HEARTS mainstays, Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith, who play WCTH couple Rosemary and Leland Coulter, are set to star in a new Hallmark movie next month.
“In a post uploaded on Pascale’s Instagram on June 29, she teased she and Kavan are starring in a new film for Hallmark Mystery,” Good Housekeeping reported last week. “As she uploaded a series of photos featuring her time seemingly working on the upcoming film, she also shared a snapshot of her and Kavan in character, peering at a potential subject from behind a tree.”
Along with WCTH, the duo has also performed in Hallmark’s THE PERFECT BRIDE, THE PERFECT BRIDE: WEDDING BELLS and YOU HAD ME AT ALOHA.
Fans are excited to see the pair act together again in a new environment.
“We love your chemistry with @kavansmith ? please make many more movies together ??,” one person wrote.
“Literally no words to describe how EXCITED I am for yours & @kavansmith’s new movie!!!” another fan wrote.
“Cannot wait for you and Kavan’s movie!!” someone else said.
Hutton will take the lead in NELLY KNOWS MYSTERIES: A FATAL ENGAGEMENT, and Smith will star as a love interest.
The movie is set to premiere on Aug. 23. Its title signals that there are likely more mysteries for Hutton and Smith on the horizon.
TV Insider reported, “When an unusual handwritten letter arrives at Nelly’s (Pascale Hutton, When Calls the Heart) office, she identifies the handwriting as belonging to her childhood friend Dahlia (Sarah Grey, The Secret Lives of College Freshmen), claiming her boyfriend Blake (Julian Haig, Dial S for Santa) is being unfaithful. Determined to help, Nelly wants some answers and rushes to Blake’s home, only to find his dead body. When Dahlia becomes the prime suspect, the new, handsome detective in town, Michael Hogan (Kavan Smith, When Calls the Heart), must work with Nelly to prove that her childhood friend is not the killer everyone believes her to be.”
On Saturday, Hutton let fans know that WTCH wrapped up its first week of filming for season 12.
“Week one done,” she shared with a photo of WTCH’s western town.

Pascale Hutton plays the fan-favorite Rosemary Coulter on Hallmark’s WHEN CALLS THE HEART, but did you know she was originally supposed to be in just two episodes?
“I was on another TV series. I was a series regular on another show. I kind of went in [to the audition for WHEN CALLS THE HEART] just on a lark,” she shared.
She continued, “At that time, I thought it was just supposed to be a two-episode guest arc. So I thought, ‘This seems like something fun to do during my hiatus.’ I didn’t know what I was getting into at the time.”
