
What Does Hulu and Fox’s Streaming Contract Extension Mean?

For the next four years, Hulu will continue to be Fox’s home for streaming.
Per Variety, “Fox Corp.’s Fox Entertainment and Disney’s Hulu announced a multiyear renewal of their content partnership, encompassing in-season streaming rights for Fox’s programming slate. The agreement also includes the extension of the marketing alliance the two companies forged in January 2023, under which Fox and Hulu branding jointly share presence across all Fox-owned and external consumer touchpoints ‘to align with live and on-demand viewing messaging of Fox content.'”
“The broadcast network and the Disney-owned streamer also have expanded their multiplatform marketing arrangement in the deal,” which according to Deadline, “is worth more than $1.5B over four years with the ad-load included.”

In addition to Fox originals like RESCUE HI-SURF, MURDER IN A SMALL TOWN, ANIMAL CONTROL, THE MASKED SINGER, this extended contract means that long-running Disney-produced programs including THE SIMPSONS, FAMILY GUY and BOB’S BURGERS “likely will remain on the network. The three shows are currently renewed through the end of this 2024-25 season.”

“The long-standing, valued partnership we have with Fox has cemented Hulu as the next-day streaming home for current Fox hits and out of season episodes of key Fox titles, and we’re excited to continue offering these scripted, unscripted and animated series to our subscribers,” Hulu general manager Lauren Tempest said. “Our collective marketing efforts, which will continue with this new deal, have generated impressive results and helped viewers successfully find the shows they want to watch, when they want to watch them.”
