Dwayne Johnson, aka “the Rock,” recounted a recent flight emergency on his way to UFL opening day Friday, March 28.

While on a flight from Hawaii to the UFL’s second-season kickoff in Texas, “The pilot comes back to me, he gets down on one knee — and it’s just me on the plane, me and the crew. And he says, ‘Mr. Johnson, I’m sorry to inform you but we cannot continue to fly over the ocean, we have a problem,'” the actor recalled in a recent video on social media about his flight.

The flight had to return to Hawaii due to a “hydraulics issue.” The pilot promised that he would land the plane “safely on the island.”

“I appreciated his demeanor in the moment,” Johnson shared.

“I took this as a sign from God and the universe,” he said, noting there was “really ——- crazy turbulence” during the flight. “You can’t help but think…is this it?”

“When you’re back there alone with just your drink…hoping you make it back safely…you start to realize the s— that’s really important in life…and the s— that doesn’t matter. I had one of those moments last night,” Johnson explained, sharing appreciation for the pilot and the crew.

He apologized for not being at UFL.

The JUMANJI star was “super pumped to get down there” and “rock and roll with all the players and coaches…I’m super bummed and I’m so sorry,” he said.

“To all my UFL players, grab this opportunity by the throat,” Johnson said. “Let’s have a great season 2 opening weekend, have fun, and ball out.”

Two days later, Johnson announced he’s excited to be a part of an upcoming untitled Hawaii-set crime thriller directed by Martin Scorsese. The movie will also star Emily Blunt and Leonardo DiCaprio.

The story is set in the ’60s and ’70s. It’s about a mob boss who fights to preserve his ancestral property, per Forbes.

“I was a little boy growing up in Honolulu when this real life story was taking place and these real men — ruthlessly did what they had to do for respect, money, power but more importantly – for the reclamation of our Polynesian culture,” Dwayne Johnson said. “Working closely with Marty as his vision for our story begins to take focus, has been a gift to witness and absorb. I’m honored to work with this inspiring creative team, and even more blessed to call them my friends.”

After Friday’s events, praise God that Johnson and the plane’s crew are alive and safe.
