What’s Next for This AMERICA’S GOT TALENT Winner?

After singing with the band Journey during the AMERICA’S GOT TALENT season finale and eventually winning the show, singing janitor Richard Goodall shared that he now knows dreams can come true.

Goodall came onto the show with zero expectations for himself. He was quickly catapulted to the public’s radar, however, when judge Heidi Klum awarded him her golden buzzer, automatically advancing him to the live knockout stages.

Week after week, the singer continued to impress and found himself among the final nine competitors heading into the finale. Even then, Goodall remained humble and entered the episode with no expectation of winning. Amazingly, he is now returning home as the winner of the $1 million prize.

“Sky’s the limit,” Goodall told Fox News Digital. “I didn’t have any expectations coming into the auditions and the same thing to the finals. I just give it all and leave it all on the stage.”

“There’s bucket list and then there’s bucket list on top of the shelf that you never dreamed were there,” the singer added, referring to his performance with Journey. “I got to touch the top shelf bucket list.”

The judges were extremely excited as well when Goodall was voted the winner as he had been a favorite of theirs throughout the season.

“You are such an amazing man. You are so humble, you’re so kind. You are also a little bit quiet, but not when you are behind the microphone!” Klum told Goodall during the final round before voting occurred. “Then you are a big rockstar!…I want you to win this so bad, Richard.”

“We won, we won!” Klum added after Goodall was revealed as the winner. “You push the Golden Buzzer for someone that you believe in…I believed in him. I fell in love with him immediately. He just melted my little heart.”

The other judges were just as excited.

“America never gets it wrong. They got it right,” said judge Howie Mandel. “[This show] is life changing…Now he’s on stage on the biggest television show, the biggest stage in the world, playing with Journey. Not only does he feel great, but it makes you watching feel great.”

Movieguide® previously reported on Goodall:

When janitor Richard Goodall sang his cover of “Don’t Stop Believin’” on AMERICA’S GOT TALENT, he thought he wasn’t winning any favor with judge Heidi Klum.

It turns out he not only earned her favor but all of the judges’.

“To be honest with you, when I was singing, Heidi looked over and was talking to Howie, which now I know what she was saying,” Goodall told Fox News Digital. “But when I was on stage, you don’t — you don’t hear what’s on the microphones, you know? So, I thought she didn’t like me.”

“And I thought, well, she didn’t ‘X’ me…and it looked like I may get three yeses…I was like, well, you know, I’ll maybe get three yeses…maybe I’ll get to go through,” he said.

But then, the judges pressed the Golden Buzzer. The buzzer is only pressed when all judges are unanimously extremely impressed with a performer — a rare event. The judges can only press the button once per season.
