Did You Know This Dad Brings His Kids to All of His Acting Jobs?

FREAKY FRIDAY star Chad Michael Murray brings his whole family to every acting gig he gets.

“I want to be there,” Murray said. “I got to be there for my daughter’s first steps. I got to take her trick or treating for the first time. And she crushed it!”

The actor is the father to a 9-year-old boy, a 6-year-old girl and a 1-year-old girl.

“The proud dad moved his pack to Halifax, Nova Scotia for the filming of SULLIVAN’S CROSSING, where he was able to ‘completely submerge’ himself into the city and its community,” People reported. “Murray noted that he also coaches his son’s football team, which is heading to the playoffs.”

He enjoys coaching and told Etalk, “I was coaching little league football with my son and all the kids coming and we just had a camaraderie.”

When his newest baby was born, Murray shared a photo of himself holding her. “Couldn’t be more blessed,” he wrote in the photo. “Thank you God?.”

Since he’s become a father, he’s conscious of the kind of roles he takes on.

“I would say, a lot of material, especially over the past 5 to 8 years since my son was born, I choose because I think one of the last things you really want is for your kids to be berated in school for what their parents are doing,” Murray said. “I don’t want my kids going to school, being freshmen in high school, and Dad’s butt posted all over their locker,” he joked. “That’s not fair to them, so making decisions for that has been great.”

“Where I am in my life right now with three young kids and in the state of the world, I just feel like these films are good for people. They want the departure,” he explained.

The reason he became an actor was to bring people laughter and joy.

“And I’ve been blessed to be able to do it now for 25 years. Can you believe it?” he said. “And where I am currently, I just feel like the content needs to be of a certain…don’t go too far. Your kids are going through school and the pressure’s already going to be immense with kids saying things because your dad’s an actor. I don’t want to make it too difficult on them.”

“So for right now, this is the perfect content for where I am. We’ll cross the bridge when it comes to it in five, 10 years from now when they’re a little bit older. But for me, this is the sweet spot, being able to do this…”

Murray just wrapped filming on FREAKIER FRIDAY with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis.

“I really started to sharpen my teeth on [the original] film, and take chances. I was terrified. When you’re out there in the middle of a neighborhood and people are watching and you’re just singing ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ as God awfully as you can in front of everybody, it’s a moment,” he said.

“So it was weird. You walk on set and to a certain degree it felt like no time had passed. And yet we all had lives in between there. Kids, grandbabies, Academy Awards, and you walk into these places and our producers and everybody’s all there,” he said.

“And it just filled my heart with such joy. And you’re hugging it out with Jamie Lee and Lindsay and it blew my mind,” he continued.

He told Collider that his experience on set was “awesome” and loads of “fun.”

“It didn’t feel like work at all. Not even,” he said.

The Buffalo native is moving back to his hometown to produce a documentary about the Buffalo Bills mafia called JUST ONE BEFORE I DIE.

“When you’re born and raised in that city, it’s just, it’s a right. You walk out of the womb, you’re a Bills fan,” Murray said.

The project is based around the hope for a Bills’ Super Bowl win.

“That would be epic for the city. We hope to just continue to bring light to a community that truly loves and gives everything for this team and digs them out in snowstorms to make sure that they can make it to the game and would give the shirt off their back if it would help in any way,” Murray said. “It’s a brotherly love community. I love that about this city. So we just want to shine light on that.”

He also loves that the city is a great spot to spend Christmas.

“I remember the magic as a kid. I mean, there’s nothing like snow on Christmas. Do me a favor: Everybody put out great vibes for a white Christmas,” he joked.
