Christian artist Forrest Frank shared why he keeps his music clean, citing the young audience he hopes to impact with his songs.

“No,” Frank wrote on Instagram when asked if he would ever include swear words in his songs, along with a short video showing him interacting with multiple young fans, adding the caption “Ephesians 4:29 ‘Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear’🙌

Frank is one of the hottest Christian artists, having quickly grown a platform on TikTok where he reached a young audience. His goal is to make catchy songs that honor the Lord, allowing his fans to worship God in a way they are unashamed to do.

“When I was growing up, I didn’t necessarily have cool Christian music to listen to,” Frank told Crosswalk. “If I was going to the gym or if I was at the beach, it seemed like there weren’t really any Christian songs that would fit those facets of life, but there was great Christian music within the church for worship. That actually kind of broke my heart; I would cry about it, and I’m not the most emotional guy.”

“So, I aspire to make Christian music that I think is cool. Not everyone’s going to like it, but I think it does serve a role in the sense of being music that kids think is cool and want to have as their baseball walk-up song when they go up to the plate and listen to when they hang out with friends,” he added.

Frank appears to have succeeded in his goal as he has created multiple hits that have broken into the mainstream audience. His song “Up,” for example, has reached over 100 million streams on Spotify since it released last year.

Even as he finds major success through social media, Frank remains committed to the Lord and keeps Him as his number one focus. Having pursued the ways of the world through high school and college, he knows that life with the Lord is greater than any path he could create for himself.

“If God told me to delete my Instagram tonight, I would do it,” he said. “If He told me to leave my Spotify, I would do it. Nothing’s off the table. All I want is Jesus, and all that matters is Jesus.”

It’s amazing to see such a strong influencer place his life in Christ’s hands and point all of his success back to the Lord rather than basking in his own glory.
