Why Is Erin Napier ‘Crying My Eyes Out’?

Ben and Erin Napier explained why bringing their talents to Sebring, Florida, for HOME TOWN TAKEOVER was so special and how they hoped to reintroduce the world to this town in Season 3 of their show.
“This part of Florida has almost been forgotten,” Ben told TV Insider. “It’s like the vacation land of yesteryear. That was sort of the theme for our crew when we were making the show. That we were telling the story of yesterday’s vacationland. It was how do you reintroduce the world to a place they used to visit?”
“The truth is Sebring was built as a vacation town. A resort town,” he continued. “It was planned as one of the only cities in the world, at least within our universe, built on a circle. It’s planned out that way. It has a race track. There are lakes, orange groves. It’s this fascinating town, people just quit going to it.”

Getting to be a part of the town’s history and helping it rediscover the popularity it has lost since other Florida towns have become vacation destinations felt like an incredible honor to the Napiers, leaving them emotional when it was time to leave.
“Our family had so much fun making this show we did not want it to end,” Ben said. “There is a moment where Erin and I got emotional…We didn’t want it to end. For that to be work and for us to get paid to do this, it’s all a blessing most people don’t ever get to experience. I hope that all shows through this show.”
“I was crying my eyes out,” Erin added.
While Sebring is never going to have the glitz and glam of other Florida vacation destinations like Tampa Bay, Orlando, Miami or the Keys, the Napiers hope their show will reveal a destination that is enticing for people looking for a slower paced getaway that includes many of the Florida perks.
“Before theme parks, and that is the old Florida that our grandparents went [to] on vacation,” Erin told Fox News Digital. “We see all their photos. I have my grandparents’ photos from going to those parts of Florida, and we want it back… I think there’s a lot of us who crave slower, simpler, less is more. We want a beautiful lake and a quiet town to go have a really great meal.”
