Why Mr. T Gives Glory to God: ‘I’m a Child of God’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Actor and former wrestler Mr. T reflected on his faith and what it means to live in a way that glorifies God during an appearance on the Trinity Broadcasting Network.
“Keep believing in God. Keep praying and, most importantly…forgive because I was pitying fools before I got to be Mr. T. You know what I mean,” he said. “So, you know, if Jesus forgave, I have to forgive.”
He shared that believers should live in a way that reflects Christ every day of the week, not just on Sundays.
“Don’t just say, ‘I’m going to church on Sunday.’ We are the church, and everywhere we go we’re supposed to tell people – when I pray, I say, ‘Lord, I pray that when they see me, let them see You. I pray that when they hear me, let them hear You.’ Every time somebody tried to ego stroke me, I say ‘I just thank God.’ ‘Hey Mr. T, you looking good.’ I thank God. I used to think I was something. I know I’m something now, I’m a child of God,” Mr. T explained.
Mr. T often shares his faith on X. In one post, he wrote, “Did you know there are millions of self-help books we could read. But I choose just one, and that one is the holy Bible! The holy Bible did more than help me it saved me. That’s why I read it every day!”

In another post, he said, “The more I study The Holy bible, the more I learn, but still, there is so much I don’t know. I really don’t mind because I’m a work in progress. So I keep reading, and keep learning! #SundayThoughts”

Mr. T even saluted the veterans for Veterans Day. In a thread on X, he tweeted, “I Salute All of Our Veterans; because All Gave Some, but Some Gave All! Thank you for your Service, your Courage, your Bravery, and your Sacrifice!! #VeteransDay.”
“As we Honor our Veterans; for all they have Done, for all they have Given, and for all they have Lost! I am Sincerely Sorry because they Deserve Much Better! #VetAppreciation #Veterans_Day,” he added.
Movieguide® previously reported on Mr. T:
Actor and former pro-wrestler Mr. T recently took to Twitter to defend his faith and biblical values.
Despite his fame, best known for his role as B. A. Baracus in the 1980s series THE A-TEAM, Mr. T said that he takes his faith seriously.
Mr. T revealed that his church asked him to preach on Oct. 9.
“Being Invited to Preach at My Own Church Next Sunday October 9. It’s A Great Honor and A Awesome Responsibility. Which I Don’t Take Lightly. God Willing, I’ll plan to do my very Best!” he wrote in a recent tweet.
“I know that my mother would be very proud, because I never let fame nor success stop me from being a bold Christian!” he continued in a separate post.
Mr. T also shared the gospel message with his followers and encouraged them to seek Christ. Although he is vocal about his faith, Mr. T also addressed accusations that his past discredits his current faith.
“While some are busy bringing up my past, I’ll be busy looking to my future, thanking God for His grace and His mercy. Because ‘If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature,’” Mr. T wrote. “I may be wrong, but I think Jesus said, ‘Let he that is among you, that is without sin, cast the first stone.’”
