Why The Devil’s Lies Will Never Satisfy

By Movieguide® Contributor

Sadie Robertson Huff has had many different guests on her podcast, but recently she hosted two very special people: her husband Christian and his brother Chance.

During the conversation, Chance explained how when he wasn’t living for God, Christian confronted him about his lifestyle.

“…I was 17, and me and Christian had the one talk in the car, you know, it’s like I should have like stopped what I was doing and listened to him right there, especially like with how serious the conversation was,” Chance explained. “But I viewed it as the sense of, ‘You already had your fun, like let me have my fun and then I’ll come to the same realization as you.'”

Later on, though, Chance realized that he should’ve swallowed his pride and turned his lifestyle around then and there.

“I think that’s the, you know, the deception of the devil is he makes everything seem super fun,” he said. “But he’s not going to tell you that sex before marriage or partying on the weekends or doing all this stuff is ‘fun’ in the moment, but the baggage that it has you carry further on down the road because. Because if you knew the pain and hurt that was going to be coming with it, you wouldn’t be engaging in the activity in the first place.”

Sadie chimed in, quoting John 10:10: “The thief comes to kill still and destroy but I come to give life and life abundantly.”

She continued, “There is like fun that you can have fully living in Christ that actually brings life and life abundantly and you wake up the next day and you’re more filled and you have more joy.”

Real life, peace and joy are found in God. Everything else is a counterfeit that leads to pain and destruction.

Chance learned this lesson and now spends his time encouraging others in Christ. He got married a few years ago and uses his n0tbychance platform to uplift others in their walk with God.

Movieguide® previously reported on Sadie and Christian:

Sadie Robertson Huff and her husband Christian Huff are looking back on this year’s LO Sister Conference — including all the things that went wrong, and how God moved in to set things back in motion.

“This is what happened night one, and here’s the thing,” Sadie said in a recent episode of her “WHOA That’s Good” podcast. “We work towards [the] conference all year long so, you know, a lot goes into the planning of the conference and who we have speaking and flights and bookings and all the different things, and this is what I mean by ‘I saw God work in so many different ways’ because yes, we planned so much, prepared so much, but so much of it just went out the window night one, and we got to see God do what really He had planned, and it was so evident, so it was really cool.”
