Will Former Trump Administration Insider Alyssa Farah Griffin Join THE VIEW?

According to network insiders, Alyssa Farah Griffin could replace Meghan McCain on THE VIEW.

Griffin, who served as a White House director of strategic communications in the Trump administration, previously appeared on the talk show as a repeat guest-host.

A spokesperson for ABC News said, “We do not have a co-host announcement to make at this time. Stay tuned.”

Sources familiar with the decision say Griffin and Lincoln Project adviser Tara Setmayer are the two finalists for the open chair on THE VIEW.

Griffin is the daughter of Joseph Farah, who founded the conservative Christian website WorldNetDaily. She previously worked in the U.S. House of Representatives as a full-time staffer in 2014, before becoming the communications director. Additionally, she served as Press Secretary to Vice President Mike Pence and Special Assistant to President Donald J. Trump.

“She served as a senior advisor on all matters related to press, communications, and the media on domestic and international affairs for the Vice President,” according to her Department of Defense bio page.

ABC has been looking for a conservative commentator for THE VIEW since McCain’s departure last year.

Meghan McCain, the lone conservative co-host on the left-leaning ABC show THE VIEW, blasted the media and announced her departure from the talk show after four years.

McCain encouraged the media to “do better” and felt that most outlets covered the show with “deep misogyny and sexism.”

“My final note to the world watching … The media needs to do a better job of covering the women on this show,” McCain said. “We are covered with deep misogyny and sexism by the media. If five men were doing what we do every day, I really do believe that we’d probably have a Pulitzer Prize.”

“It’s always reduced to really reductive coverage,” she added. “I implore the media to do better as they cover the rest of you going forward.”

While McCain’s conservative viewpoints often resulted in heated discussions with her liberal co-hosts, Whoopi Goldberg offered words of encouragement.

“Everything possible has been fired at you, so when you leave here, you’re a better person, better woman, better mother, better friend,” Goldberg said. “And so, we’ve got a month together. Let’s make the most of it.”
