Star Will Forte is “thrilled” COYOTE VS. ACME was saved by Ketchup Media and will head to theaters.
“I never thought it would happen so it just came out of nowhere and I’m so thrilled,” he said while attending the premiere of his new show, THE FOUR SEASONS. “Thank you Ketchup Entertainment.”
Forte continued, “I’m so excited for people to see this movie. I’m gonna promote…it, just tell me what you want me to do and I’ll go, I’ll do whatever — go to the top of Mount Everest, I’m there.”
The LOONEY TUNES movie was shelved by Warner Bros. Discovery, to the disappointment of many fans. Others were angry that the studio had reportedly done so as part of a $115 million tax write-off.
Ketchup Media saved COYOTE VS. ACME earlier this year, acquiring the worldwide distribution rights from WBD.
“We’re thrilled to have made a deal with Warner Bros. Pictures to bring this film to audiences worldwide,” Gareth West, CEO of Ketchup Entertainment, said in a statement. “COYOTE VS ACME is a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern storytelling, capturing the essence of the beloved LOONEY TUNES characters while introducing them to a new generation. We believe it will resonate with both longtime fans and newcomers alike.”
Forte had previously shared his feelings about COYOTE VS. ACME being shelved, telling MovieWeb, “It is such a delightful movie. It deserves so much better…I can’t tell you possibly why the decision was made to not release it, but it makes my blood boil and thank you for asking me about it because I like talking about the movie.”
In a statement posted to X, he wrote, “To the Cast and Crew of COYOTE VS. ACME — I know that a lot of you haven’t gotten a chance to see our movie. And sadly, it’s looking like you never will. When I first heard that our movie was getting ‘deleted,’ I hadn’t seen it yet. So I was thinking what everyone else must have been thinking: this thing must be a hunk of junk. But then I saw it. And it’s incredible.”
“Look, when it comes to Hollywood business stuff, I don’t know [anything],” he continued. “Even when a movie tests very well (like ours), there’s no guarantee that it’s gonna be a hit…Please know that all the years and years of hard work, dedication and love that you put into this movie shows in every frame. That’s all folks.”
