Wonder What It’s Like to Work on THE CHOSEN? Actors Say…

THE CHOSEN’s Noah James and Luke Dimyan are opening up about what working on the upcoming season of the show was like and how they think fans will respond.

“Our time on THE CHOSEN, we have the best family, the best, you know, cast crew,” James told Moviegide®. “And I feel so comfortable on sets now because really it feels like we live here for months at a time. When I go on other shows, I just feel more at ease. I feel more able to do the work and meet people where they are, and I really thank THE CHOSEN [for that].”

For Dimyan, taking on the role of Judas for THE CHOSEN meant humanizing the villain and shining a different light on him than people typically see.

“It just seemed like the only logical path to take because, in any case, it’s very easy to look at someone and judge them for their harshest deeds and very easily paint a simple black-and-white picture of someone,” he said. “But as a performer, what we learn in our schooling, and what naturally comes to breaking down a character, is that they are human, and honestly the best part about playing bad guys is realizing ‘Oh, they have reasons. They’re complicated,’ and then cheering them on.”

He previously told Movieguide® that he “just tried to play it as honestly as I could given the situation.”

Dimyan believes this season’s amazing production value will elevate its emotional intensity.

“I think it’s just brought all of the emotional stakes to an all new high, especially with production value,” he said. “You’re looking at the sets and everything. The cameras that we’re using to film… everything is on an 11 now. The story, the plot, the characters, everybody feels that.”

Creator Dallas Jenkins believes Season 5 will help people better understand what the week leading up to Jesus’ death was really like.

“It’s easy for us to forget that Jesus was with his closest friends the week that He was going to die,” he said. “What does that mean for him? What does that look like for him? What does it mean for them when they clearly aren’t understanding what’s going to happen, but they’re still following, even though they don’t understand? The moments that you’ve heard about from scripture are there. They’re significant. We do them in a really cool way, but ultimately you’re going to be in the story. And you can see this from a human perspective.”

THE CHOSEN Season 5 will debut in theaters with Part 1 on March 27. Part 2 will arrive on April 3, while Part 3 comes on April 10.
