YOUNG DAVID Promises to ‘Delight Families’ With ‘Timeless’ Truths

YOUNG DAVID, an animated children’s show following the early years of Israel’s King David, will begin releasing Nov. 10.

YOUNG DAVID is a groundbreaking endeavor that blends state-of-the-art animation with timeless tales of faith and virtue cherished by God’s people globally.”
“We’ve taken great care to ensure values and lessons that transcend time,” he continued. “We’re excited to partner with Angel Studios and Slingshot Productions to offer a series that can delight families around the world.”
YOUNG DAVID follows King David’s early years as a shepherd. Biblically rooted and historically accurate, the show tells the story of the boy who would go on to become one of the greatest heroes of the Christian faith.
Each episode focuses on a different aspect of David’s life. The first episode tells the story of David as a warrior, followed by David as a king, shepherd, poet and worshiper. Each episode will be accompanied by a young reader chapter book that helps the story become even more real.
A new episode will be released every month:
- November 10 – “Warrior”
- December 8 – “King”
- January 12 – “Shepherd”
- February 9 – “Poet”
- March 8 – “Worshiper”
The final episode will roughly coincide with the debut of Angel Studios’ upcoming movie about King David.
“The YOUNG DAVID series takes the quality of animated Biblical series to a level audiences haven’t seen before. It gives a tiny glimpse into the quality of the upcoming DAVID feature film,” said Jeffry Harmon, CCO of Angel Studios. “We are honored to partner with Minno, a company that shares our mission to amplify light, and co-launch the series on our apps and websites.”
Early access to YOUNG DAVID will begin for Angel Guild Members starting November 3, with a full release onto Minno and Angel’s streaming services on November 10.

Their movie SOUND OF FREEDOM shocked the box office, crossing the $100 million threshold this week.
Purdie is referencing the unique way that Angel Studios chooses their projects. Angel lets their audience vote on the projects that they fund through their “Angel Guild.” This allows the studio to create movies that their audience wants to see and release them with a core audience already built.
