A LITTLE WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS director says he couldn’t have “ask[ed] for anything greater” than the movie’s cast.

“When you have a wonderful ensemble cast, you need somebody who’s nurturing and loving, and that’s the wonderful Jen Lilley,” Brandon Clark, the movie’s director, told Movieguide® at this year’s Awards Gala.

He also mentioned Jesse Hutch, who “has been my boy for a long time and we [got] to work together, finally,” and producer Darin Chavez, who “has been a friend for 15 years.”

“It’s like the merger of it all,” Clark explained. “You can’t ask for anything greater. You’re only as great as your team.”

A LITTLE WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS took home the award for Best Television for Families at this year’s Movieguide® Awards Gala.

“A LITTLE WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS is a new Christmas classic in the making, with an incredible ensemble cast and an adaptation of an original story that is one of the best I have read,” Great American Media president and CEO Bill Abbott said of the movie. “Louisa May Alcott was intentional about focusing on the culture of young women, their hopes, ambitions, and dreams, and it remains one of the most widely read and beloved stories ever written.”

Lilley, a frequent star of Christmas movies, spoke to Northern Virginia Magazine about her love of the holiday genre.

“Holiday movies are so fun,” she shared. “My favorite part about them is the profound impact they have on viewers. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve met a fan at Christmas Con who has told me one of my Christmas movies was the only 90 minutes they didn’t cry all season because they’ve experienced a recent death in their family. I cry tears of awe and gratitude every time I hear someone say that.”

Lilley added, “So, while these movies might not garner an Academy Award nomination, they’re a genre I’m extremely grateful to be part of because they’re impacting lives and bringing people peace and joy!”

The actress already has her next Christmas project on deck — HOLIDAY HEARTS, a Christmas romance based on a novella by Dana Volney.

“We have an amazing cast on board, including six other award-winning and iconic actors I’m not allowed to announce yet,” Lilley said. “We’re set to start shooting in January for a 2025 holiday release.”
