More Detail:
“Two Girls Kissing” puts Courtney, the closeted lesbian girl, on the stand to testify about a night she spent with Hannah Baker where they kissed. Why this is important for the trial against the school is left for the viewer to determine, but it makes for silly melodrama. Meanwhile, Jessica (Hannah’s former best friend) is threatened to keep quiet about the fact she was raped by Bryce. Also, Clay and Skye try to fornicate again, but to no avail.
“Two Girls Kissing” is good in the sense that you realize you really don’t need to finish the rest of 13 REASONS WHY. With all creativity out the window in the first two episodes, one has to wonder why the show was ever renewed for Season Two. It’s so unpleasant, ridiculous and self-congratulatory because of the themes it tries to address that it simply becomes silly. This particular episode heavily features an adopted lesbian girl who’s afraid to come out in front of her homosexual fathers, but she ultimately does so while testifying. The episode may be the most pointless of the 13 REASONS WHY episodes so far.
