More Detail:

Episode 3 of A LITTLE HELP WITH CAROL BURNETT touches on the topic of “marriage.” Comedian Tony Hale guest stars. The children give him advice on how to divide the time between what his wife wants to watch on television and what he wants to watch. One of the best lines in the episode is when one child says, “Reward and punishment are the two best words.” It shows viewers a way to handle small marriage quarrels in a light and funny way.

This episode seems redundant in that it is very similar to the episode about love. Marriage and love go hand-in-hand, so it may have been a better choice on the writer’s behalf to put the two together in the same episode. Regarding the guest star, the only family-friendly movie that Hale has been in was ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS, whereas his other credits are in ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT and VEEP, programs that aren’t geared toward a family audience. That said, Hale is a role model for younger viewers, so it’s good that he appears in this family-friendly program.
