A MOVING ROMANCE is a television movie airing on UPtv. It follows the story of an interior designer who works for her father’s moving company after being fired from her job and reconnects to the people she loves while meeting new friends. The movie opens when a young woman named Olivia is fired from her interior designing job in New York because her work “lacks heart.” Olivia returns to her hometown in California to attend her widowed father’s 25th business anniversary. When Olivia arrives home, her father overhears her on the phone that she’s been fired from her job.
The next day, Olivia insists she goes to work with her father to help. Since he knows she’s out of work, he agrees. The employees at her father’s moving company tell Olivia she can help by moving furniture out of homes with them. As Olivia spends more time with the crew, she gets to know better one of her father’s main employees, Scott.
Olivia’s father tells her he’s going out of town on a boy’s trip but takes a vacation with his girlfriend of six months. While he’s gone, he puts Scott in charge of the moving company. Business has been slow for the company, because a big moving company has been taking all the customers in the area.
Olivia comes up with a plan that incorporates her skills of interior designing with the moving company. Business spikes up again because of this change, and the employees are ecstatic. Olivia discovers how to incorporate “heart” into her designs and decides to send her new portfolio of designs to her old boss.
Meanwhile, Olivia and Scott begin spending more time together and grow close. Scott reveals to Olivia that he has plans to become a lawyer but hasn’t followed through with his dreams. She encourages Scott to go back to school, but he’s still hesitant.
Olivia’s father returns from the trip and introduces his girlfriend to Olivia, but Olivia has a bad reaction and storms off. Scott finds her upset and comforts her to help her feel better. Although once upset, Olivia finds out that her boss was impressed with her updated portfolio and offers her a job to design a restaurant.
