What You Need To Know:
GAME CHANGER is funny and heartwarming. It successfully gives the main characters some depth in their character development. There are also some excellent drone shots. GAME CHANGER has a very strong Christian, moral worldview where pride is seen as unfavorable, teamwork counts and humility wins out. GAME CHANGER even goes so far as to preach the Gospel and encourage its protagonist to return to faith in Christ as he faces trials. There’s also one scene that recounts the patriotic sacrifice of a Marine. The movie has very little objectionable content, except for some light slapstick violence and potty humor. For these reasons, MOVIEGUIDE® finds GAME CHANGER worthwhile.

More Detail:
Set in Atlanta, Georgia, GAME CHANGER follows a football quarterback named Jordan Gabriel who seems to have a dream life. He lives in a big mansion, hosts grandiose parties and drives a fast sports car. Lohan, a middle schooler and his mother, go to one of Jordan’s autograph signings, only for Jordan to write Lohan off because Jordan’s developing a crush on Lohan’s mother.
Later, after a dinner date with a woman he met at one of his parties, Jordan gets into a car street race that gets him pulled over by police. At court, the judge assigns Jordan to community service at a local school and must report back after two weeks to see how things are progressing.
Jordan shows up at the local middle school where he’s supposed to coach the school’s baseball team. When he walks around the school, Jordan sees Lohan’s mother, who’s a teacher at the school. She tells him they’ve just moved in the area, along with her daughter. Now, Jordan remembers how he disappointed Lohan. . ..
The baseball team, the Warriors, has their first game under Jordan’s leadership, only to lose. At court soon after, the judge impresses upon Jordan that there’s no such thing as a lost cause. The judge also talks about Jordan’s responsibility as a role model to help his team players. So, the judge states that Jordan’s team must win the championship or face jail time for his irresponsible actions.
Will this be the incentive that Jordan needs to change his attitude?
