David settles into life at King Saul’s fortress to wait until his appointed time. Tensions rise between the House of King Saul and the House of Adriel in Judah, so King Saul betroths his daughter, Mychal, to marry a son of Adriel in order to keep the tribes of Israel united. However, politics, demonic forces, and deeply rooted suspicions and mental health issues threaten Israel’s entire future.
Queen Ahinoam hosts a feast of VIPs in honor of her husband, King Saul, in order to bring peace between the conflicting House of Saul and the House of Adriel (the chief elder of Judah). Against the backdrop of lavish festivities, hearts are revealed, motivations are exposed, and madness is unleashed.
Meanwhile, David grapples with his feelings for King Saul’s daughter, Mychal. Mychal continues to teach David how to read. She reveals to David that she wants a simple life without the responsibilities of a Princess. She accuses David of harboring secrets. Before he can confide in her, they are interrupted by the Queen, who’s scandalized by their private meeting. She rebukes them.
Later, Mychal discovers she’s to become a pawn in her parents’ game to keep power. They offer her hand in marriage to one of the sons of the House of Adriel to unite the tribes. Mychal accepts the plan as she sees it as her duty in life. However, David does what he can to stop them.
Meanwhile, King Saul is spiraling into deeper madness as a demon positing as the dead pagan king Saul killed oppresses him and plants doubt and suspicions in Saul’s mind that the House of Judah will steal his throne. In a fit of madness, King Saul destroys all negotiations with the House of Adriel. Queen Ahinoam will do anything to keep power and maintain peace, even employ dark magic.
