A WHIRLWIND WEDDING is a romantic comedy on UPtv that follows Cassie Mitchell, an accountant in Chicago who has fading dreams of being a designer. At work, she hopes for a promotion and works hard to get it.

One day at work, she receives a call from her mother, Bonnie, who tells Cassie that her wedding planner cancelled on them a week before Bonnie’s wedding to a man named Henry. She asks Cassie if Cassie can be her wedding planner. Cassie travels to her mother’s house, meets Henry and begins planning the wedding. Cassie asks her boyfriend, Phil, if he’s able to come to the wedding, but Phil says he can’t. This increases the strain on what is already a strained relationship between the two.

Cassie begins meeting with different caterers, and meets with Kyle, the owner of a barbeque restaurant alongside his brother. Cassie is initially skeptical, but eventually hires Kyle to cater for the wedding. After learning he is also a carpenter as a hobby, Cassie asks if he can help her design and remodel a barn where the reception will take place. Over the next six days, the two grow closer. Kyle is initially hesitant to try new recipes and designs but begins to experiment more with the help of Cassie.

On the eve of the wedding, Phil surprises Cassie by arriving and proposing to her. Kyle looks on from afar. Cassie rejects Phil’s proposal and breaks up with him. Kyle leaves before this happens, however, and believes them to be engaged.
