What You Need To Know:
ABOMINABLE is action packed, and the music makes the scenes more suspenseful and scary. However, the storyline is underwhelming and can be confusing at times as it jumps around to different characters. ABOMINABLE has a light redemptive, moral worldview that promotes friendship and sacrifice. Two characters sacrifice themselves for others, and one of those sacrificial heroes also does it to help mankind. However, ABOMINABLE contains gory violence when the Yeti creature attacks or kills the humans. Also, the Yeti is in a cheap costume that looks fake and makes it hard to take the movie too seriously. MOVIEGUIDE® advises extreme caution for ABOMINABLE.

More Detail:
Coming out on DVD, ABOMINABLE follows a team of explorers who climb a mountain in the Himalayas to find a rare plant with possible medicinal properties, but run into the vicious Yeti creature, or “abominable snowman,” guarding the mountain. ABOMINABLE is action-packed and suspenseful, with a light redemptive, moral worldview promoting friendship and sacrifice, but the story is sometimes confusing, hokey and contains gory violence when the Yeti creature attacks or kills the humans.
ABOMINABLE begins as a doctor is running through the snow and holding a blue plant in his hand. The doctor falls to the ground, and it’s implied that a monster attacks and kills him. Another group of explorers appear on the mountain, and it is shown that they’re there to find a rare plant which holds some medicinal properties.
The team is made up by Sarah, Pete, Victor, Dr. Helen, and Bob. The five stumbles upon an abandoned house that contains journal and voice entries made by a previous team. These entries reveal that there’s a vicious Yeti, or “abominable snowman,” that protects the mountain and will hurt humans. The new team ignores these warnings because they believe it’s more important to find the rare plant on the mountain.
Victor leaves the house to guard the team. However, the Yeti sneaks up on Victor and violently attacks him. Sarah and Pete stay in the house to work on the computer signal but realize they will need to venture into the woods to fix the signal problem. Bob and Dr. Helen leave the house to start their trek up the mountain towards the plant.
While Bob and Dr. Helen are walking, Dr. Helen reveals she has brain cancer and wants to use the plant to test on herself for a cure. She also tells Bob she wants to use the medicine to share with the world if it works on her. Bob lies to Dr. Helen and tells her he has a sick child and a wife who he will use the plant to cure. However, as they get closer to the plant, Bob shoots Dr. Helen in the leg and steals her journal so that he can find where the Yeti is. He admits he was never really interested in the plant but instead wanted to capture the Yeti to sell the creature on the black market. Though wounded, Helen wraps her bullet wound and continues to crawl up the mountain, but Bob sees her and drags her with him.
Meanwhile, Sarah and Pete discover they will have to go separate ways in order to fix the signal problem to contact others off the mountain. However, the Yeti starts following Pete and Sarah.
Can Sarah and Pete escape the creature’s clutches to repair the signal? Can Helen get away from Bob to find the plant? Will anyone survive?
