What You Need To Know:
Offensive and foolish actives abound. A very foolish act is an accidental death in a phony holdup. Fifty and Foolish think it would be humorous to stage a fake episode of armed robbery to scare their friends. This is not a joking matter. Another foolish thing is a comedy routine where Foolish says he’d rather be in Hell than Heaven. Furthermore, sex jokes abound throughout the movie as well as many uses of obscenity. The only redeeming aspect of the movie is the Christian grandmother. FOOLISH is a foolish waste of time.
Content:
(PaPaPa, AB, C, LLL, V, SS, NNN, A, DD, M) Largely pagan worldview of immoral brothers with some anti-Christian statements & a Christian grandmother; 164 obscenities, 12 profanities, numerous uses of the “N” word, & many other sexual euphemisms & vulgarities; staged armed robbery & man dies on screen from heart attack; brief fornication & massive amounts of sexual humor; brief full female nudity & upper male nudity; alcohol use; smoking & references to smoking marijuana; and, many foolish acts of sin & rebellion.
More Detail:
Another movie displaying once again the worst of rap and hip hop culture, FOOLISH is a parade of sex jokes, gangster themes, racial slurs, lots of obscenity, and a few naked women for no reason in particular. Basically a showcase for the stand-up skills of comedian Eddie Griffin, its only redeeming qualities are a few brief scenes of visits to a Christian grandmother.
Griffin plays ‘Foolish’ Waise (pronounced “Ways”), a comedian who plays at a small club run by Giovanni (Frank Sivero). Eddie’s brother Fifty (Master P) is a “collector” for gangster El Dorado Ron (Andrew Dice Clay). Both men are unsatisfied in their work and decide to work together to open their own club. Complications arise when another thug under El Dorado Ron dies accidentally when Foolish and Fifty scare him with a fake holdup. El Dorado comes down hard on Fifty, and Fifty starts dating Foolish’s former girlfriend and possible financier, Desiree (Amy Petersen).
Offensive and foolish activities abound and follow one after another. A very foolish act is the accidental death in the holdup. Fifty and Foolish think it would be humorous to stage a fake episode of armed robbery to scare their friends. This is not a joking matter. Another foolish thing is a comedy routine where Foolish says he’d rather be in Hell than Heaven because he thinks he’ll have more fun in Hell doing decadent acts with his friends. Apparently, Foolish’s theology needs correcting. Furthermore, sex jokes abound throughout the movie as well as many obscenities.
The only redeeming aspect of the movie is a few scenes with a Christian grandmother. After she dies, the priest gives a eulogy saying she was a “Christian woman who gave selflessly,” but then incorrectly adds, “Christ loved her the most,” – another theological error. FOOLISH is a foolish waste of time.
