What You Need To Know:
G20 promotes Biblical values by emphasizing a mother putting her family first and giving up the opportunity for her safety and freedom to save her children and husband. Furthermore, the movie also stresses the teaching that good will always prevail over evil and that our past experiences do not define who we are today. However, G20 also features excessive violence to the detriment of the story development, along with excessive foul language. For these reasons, Movieguide® does not find G20 acceptable for any audience.

More Detail:
In Prime Video’s thriller G20, after Danielle Sutton, the President of The United States’ underage daughter, sneaks out from the White House to go to a bar, she brings her entire family to the annual G20 economic conference. However, things go haywire after an international terrorist group seeking to destabilize the entire global economy undermines the security of the event. Locking the world leaders in the conference room at gunpoint, the group plans to use deepfake videos to influence the public to lose faith in these leaders. However, the President escapes, leaving it up to her to save these leaders and the world economy before time runs out.
Criminal mastermind Rutledge has dreamed up a scheme to make him billions of dollars. After acquiring a crypto wallet worth $30 million, he plans to undermine the global economy by making the public believe the world leaders want to seize control of their assets, causing them to turn to cryptocurrency for relief. To do this, he plans a massive team inside the security of the G20 economic conference to capture the world leaders at the event and use AI deepfakes to release videos of them discussing taking over the world economy.
As the conference kicks off, the leaders gather in a large conference room where Rutledge’s team opens fire on any security not on his side before capturing the leaders. However, during the firefight, the President of The United States escapes the room, along with her security guard, the British Prime Minister, and two experts on the global economy. Understanding what is at stake, they vow to reach the public and explain what has happened while also working to save their hostage colleagues.
Though G20 features many famous actors, it lacks a compelling storyline and passionate performances. The plot develops in a clunky way, and the writers include as much action as possible, even when it hinders the story. Furthermore, the ending is abrupt, as it provides no closure about the world economy, a significant focus in the movie.
The movie does, however, promote biblical principles as the President values the lives of her children and husband over her own and multiple times gives up a chance at her freedom and safety to save them. Furthermore, she feels a strong call to fight for her country, while the movie promotes the idea that good will always overcome evil. However, the story is marred by excessive foul language and unnecessary violence throughout the movie. Thus, Movieguide® advises all audiences to avoid G20.
