GO FISH

In the homosexual comedy GO FISH, Max is unable to attract a lesbian lover on her own and therefore must ask her roommate, Kia, to pick one randomly for her. Kia’s choice is Ely, a woman initially considered unattractive to Max. However, by film’s end she wins Max’s affection. This is a deceptively endearing movie, neatly performed with stylish direction and camera work. GO FISH shows the inner workings of the lesbian world with a charming wit and only superficially touches on the downside of the lifestyle.

However, the lesbian and promiscuous worldview portrayed in the movie is one that ultimately, even by its own standards, proves to be empty and unfulfilling. The premise of the movie is revealed in the closing voice-over: “The girl is out there.” The belief that fulfillment can be found in this lifetime is a true one. However, instead of looking for the only permanent road to fulfillment–developing a relationship with God, this unrated movie looks for the quick fix and encourages the pursuit of fleeting escapades with various partners. With extensive nudity, multiple obscenities and graphic acts of lesbianism throughout, GO FISH is a dangerous movie which paints a permissive gloss over alarming, immoral sexual activity.
