More Detail:

HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES is a rip-off of the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE horror movies. Two Hollywood studios turned down this gorefest about four young adults searching for thrills on Halloween, who run into a demented family of maniacs, led by an oversexed middle-aged woman named Mother Firefly and a long-haired freak who likes to mutilate his victims. The two young men of the group are doing a book on bizarre roadside attractions. They run into a demented clown, who owns an attraction called Captain Spaulding’s Museum of Monsters and Madmen. Captain Spaulding runs a haunted house ride featuring notorious killers, including a local madmen named Dr. Satan, who was hanged by the townspeople. On the way to visit the hanging tree, the men and their girlfriends have the unfortunate fate of running into Mother Firefly’s sex-crazed young daughter. Murderous mayhem then ensues.

Except for the character of Captain Spaulding, who’s played with demented verve by Sid Haig, HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES lacks inspiration. Directed by obnoxious rocker Rob Zombie, the movie continues the terrible trend of contemporary horror movies, where the evil mad killers defeat all of their evil victims, no matter how hard they try to escape. The movie also contains plenty of strong foul language, many gory images, and nudity.
