LEADERS FOR LIFE is a powerful and often hard documentary to watch about the value of life and the fight to end abortion from the perspective of values. Several pro-life advocates, including Kevin and Sam Sorbo and Flip, David and Jason Benham, and others present arguments in LEADERS FOR LIFE for the pro-life cause by citing past court cases, technology and biblical evidence.

LEADERS FOR LIFE has a strong Christian, moral, pro-life worldview. It’s clear from the first few minutes that the movie is on the side of the sanctity of life. The movie stresses the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the only answer for ending abortion. Scripture is quoted, the need for repentance is promoted, and Jesus is stressed as the truth. In contrast to that, some Satanists and an abortion doctor express Anti-Christian, pagan sentiments, and a Catholic shows no remorse for an abortion. LEADERS FOR LIFE is a powerful and often hard documentary to watch and about the value of life and the fight to end abortion from a Christian, pro-life perspective.

The movie begins with actress and pro-life activist Sam Sorbo and shortly afterwards, her husband Kevin Sorbo of GOD’S NOT DEAD and HERCULES. The pair set the stage of the documentary by painting a picture of the astronomical fines a person may receive if they tamper with a sea turtle egg or a bald eagle egg and contrast that with the disdain people have for unborn children in the womb. Other voices in the pro-life movement share their convictions on the moral and political issues involved in abortion, to add to the Sorbos’ perspective.

The documentary then transitions to talk about the warped pro-choice views of the liberal establishment in the United States, compared to those of former President Donald Trump. Interviewed persons like Pastor Mark Burns, the Sorbos and Willy Guardiola unpack how Trump isn’t the world’s savior, Jesus Christ is, but that Trump recognizes that the pro-life battle is a fight for freedom.

Also, Pastor Burns stresses that Trump isn’t perfect, and doesn’t condone all his past behaviors but applauds his countless efforts to champion the pro-life stance of the nation. Interviewees remind viewers that Trump defunded planned parenthood by 60% and instituted a National Day of Sanctify for Human Life.

Next, filmmakers relay how valuable modern technology is to the pro-life movement. Sonograms that depict a baby’s heartbeat and show images of an unborn child are valuable resources to the pro-life community, since mothers can now put sounds and names to the human lives growing inside them. Both Kevin Sorbo and pro-life advocate Seth Gruber go into the dates. Sam Sorbo recounts a personal story about the horrors or abortion and visibly displays her anguish for mothers who abort their children, citing that they rob themselves of the greatest love story of their lives.

The documentary then moves to the COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, when countless people were locked in their homes, abortion clinics, including those of Planned Parenthood’s, were still open. Pro-life protestors shine a light on the fact that abortions clinics are considered as “essential”, but there’s an obvious pushback from the same protestors to exercise their constitutional rights to protest and preach the Gospel. Likewise, Willy Guardiola of Palm Beach, Florida shows viewers his executive order by the governor to shut down a Planned Parenthood and the police forces disregard for his order and therefore, his task force.

The remaining half of LEADERS FOR LIFE continues to stress the value of life and the struggles of the pro-life movement in the eyes of the nation, freedom and the Judeo-Christian, biblical values on which the nation was founded.

LEADERS FOR LIFE is a powerful but often hard documentary to watch. The interviewees do a great job stating their arguments in contrast to the pro-choice movement and by breaking down their confusion and the sin of murder. LEADERS FOR LIFE is more informative than entertaining. However, it contains very important, potentially life changing content for persons on both sides of the abortion argument. There are some cheesy looking b-roll shots, but those shouldn’t deter viewers from the heart of the movie’s positive message.
