What You Need To Know:
The two lead actresses have comic zest, range, and good timing, but their comic abilities are wasted on utterly amoral, immoral material. NEVER GOIN’ BACK has a strong immoral and amoral pagan worldview, with strong homosexual references and undertones, drug abuse, constant foul language, and other lewd content. There’s not one redeeming quality about any of the characters in NEVER GOIN’ BACK.

More Detail:
NEVER GOIN’ BACK is a comical slice of life story following two utterly amoral, frequently stoned teenage girls over the course of a week as they try to find illicit ways to make their rent money after blowing it on a beach vacation. Only mildly amusing, NEVER GOIN’ BACK has a strong immoral and amoral pagan worldview, with strong homosexual references and undertones, drug abuse, constant foul language, and other lewd content.
Angela (Maia Mitchell) and Jessie (Camilla Morrone) are longtime best friends who live with Jessie’s idiot older brother and his friends, with no parents around. The brother and his friends are lazy stoners who sell marijuana to survive, while the girls are high school dropouts who work as waitresses in their small Texas town.
Jessie is depressed by her dead-end life and upcoming birthday, so Angela surprises her by buying them a weekend trip in the Gulf of Mexico town of Galveston. However, the problem is, she wasted their rent money on the trip. So, Jessie and Angela only have a week to work a bunch of shifts at the restaurant to make back the cash.
Making matters worse, they show up late and stoned at their job, so the manager cuts their hours, and they’re forced to scramble for other solutions. Thus, begins a shiftless and amoral (though sometimes funny, in spite of itself) series of misadventures as they strive to come up with the cash and avoid disaster.
Along the way, the girls get accidentally stoned on marijuana-laced brownies, swear constantly, discuss sex in graphically comic terms, hatch one illicit plan after another to steal or con the money from other people, and wind up having a gross gastrointestinal disaster in one scene because Jessie is afraid of using public toilets. Throughout the movie, it’s implied the girls have homosexual relations at least some of the time.
Only sometimes amusing, NEVER GOIN’ BACK is an extremely low-budget indie film by Writer/Director Augustine Ferrell, who says the movie is based on her own wild teenage years. The movie’s two lead actresses admittedly have comic zest, range, and good timing, but their comic abilities are wasted on utterly amoral, immoral garbage material. NEVER GOIN’ BACK has a strong immoral and amoral pagan worldview, with strong homosexual references and undertones, drug abuse, constant foul language, and other lewd content. There’s not one redeeming quality about any of the characters. NEVER GOIN’ BACK is a must to avoid for any discerning, media-wise viewer.
