READY TO RUMBLE

What You Need To Know:

READY TO RUMBLE stars David Arquette and Scott Caan as two septic tank workers, Gordie and Sean, who help their favorite professional wrestler, Jimmy King, make a comeback to the ring. First, however, they must clean up the now-drunken wrestler and build up his confidence. They help Jimmy, who’s played by Oliver Platt, get revenge against the people who took away his championship belt, including the owner of the wrestling league. The owner and his new wrestling star, Diamond Dallas Page, challenge Jimmy to a brutal cage match. The prize: One million dollars and a chance to win back the title.

READY TO RUMBLE literally takes dumb comedy into the toilet. The movie milks Gordie and Sean’s septic tank profession for all it’s worth. In one scene, they eat fast food while raw sewage drips from the tank. In another, a truck slams into their tank, spraying human waste all over them, some firemen and a traffic cop. The movie also includes plenty of extreme wrestling violence, strong foul language, numerous groin kicks, and a couple sexual situations. Professional wrestling is a ripe topic for some good action comedy, but READY TO RUMBLE is not it.
