More Detail:

Set Los Angeles, RESERVOIR DOGS is a sadistic crime drama that tests the bonds of loyalty between a group of criminals brought together to commit a jewelry heist. The story is a brutal exploration of the male psyche and a dissection of the criminal mind as the group tries to determine who foiled their carefully orchestrated robbery. When we first meet the gang of thieves, the direction of the movie is apparent. Their limited vocabulary is evident as their initial five-minute conversation is host to almost forty obscene expressions. Professional thief Joe Cabot and his son bring together the thieves to rob a diamond wholesaler. As the hit is made, Mr. Blonde is angered when the diamond wholesalers disobey his commands and set off the silent alarms. As a result, Mr. Blonde’s unbridled anger turns the jewelry heist into a blood bath. When they flee from the robbery, they are surprised and shocked to find the police waiting. The robbers escape but not without more casualties

Although RESERVOIR DOGS brings together a relatively bright and talented cast, the story line and script leave little room for pleasant or intelligent dialogue. The violent criminals and their small list of profanities make the movie very predictable. The morbid display of violence in many instances and especially a torture scene, break through all inherent boundaries of decency and make it difficult for even a seasoned viewer to watch.
