More Detail:
A piece of mindless entertainment made by sex-addicted snowbirds, SKI SCHOOL is destined to be buried beneath a snow heap. Any semblance of plot revolves around the All-Star Ski School, somewhere atop Whistler Mountain, presided over by Reid Janssen, the school’s director. Reid has a headache in the person of Dave, a trouble-maker with thespian aspirations, whom Reid can’t eject due to the fact that he’s a local folk legend.
The legend being that Dave and first-lieutenant Fritz engage in juvenile, bathroom humor of the vilest sort. When they’re not belching their way to a beer high, it’s because they’re using the time to get their snow bunny friend to deceive two of Reid’s male assistants into hopping into bed with each other.
Reid swears he’ll rid the school of Dave and his merry band of pranksters. Dave, however, plans to thwart the efforts to oust him through subliminal hypnosis; that is, by speaking suggestions to the subconscious while Reid’s lackeys are sleeping on the job.
The frat-house antics continue, but does anybody care how this turns out? There are sexual escapades in steam rooms and hot tubs with banal and tasteless sexual comments added ad nauseam.
Film makers who aim no higher than to concoct an elaborate excuse to stage a wild party should never attempt to use skiing as a backdrop. Inevitably, that would require performers to say or do something intelligent on the slopes. This is a task for which the cast of SKI SCHOOL is unprepared.
It makes no difference since in films like this those who keep their clothes on are there to provide a reason for others to take their clothes off. However, what’s really amazing is that the investors behind SKI SCHOOL actually labored under the belief that it would enjoy a theatrical as well as a video run. Boy, will they ever learn!
