THE WAR ROOM

THE WAR ROOM is a contemporary political “persuasive” documentary that attempts to blatantly persuade the audience of Clinton’s superiority in his run for the presidency. The film criticizes the other candidates so ruthlessly that it seems inconceivable that anyone would have voted for Perot or Bush. Perhaps, if the filmmakers would have taken a more objective view, their film would be a more legitimate account of this colorful presidential race of 1992. The action focuses on George Stephanopoulos and James Carville in “The War Room,” otherwise known as campaign headquarters. The film covers an eclectic list of events, beginning with the New Hampshire Primary, and the Gennifer Flowers’ episode adds color. The Democratic Convention in New York City is an exciting moment, even for an audience member who loathes Clinton.

Whether this film is an informative and exciting documentary or a vehicle for Clinton’s support–it does provide an inside peek at this administration.
