THREESOME

THREESOME is about as immoral, amoral and bad a film as Hollywood makes. A film of sexual depravity, deviance and confusion, THREESOME pushes the envelope of homosexual activity and discussion in a mainstream Hollywood film. The film opens with a college junior, Eddy, who offers an explanation of the word “deviant.” He takes on a roommate, Stuart. Then, a female roommate, Alex, comes to live with the two. A kinky “menage a trois” is soon set up when Stuart desires Alex, Eddy desires Stuart, and Alex desires Eddy–but then the three let down all reservations and spend at least one night in homosexual and heterosexual activity. After this torrid one-bed stand, the three “inseparables” drift apart and go their separate ways. Stuart ends up in a monogamous marriage; Eddy takes on a homosexual lover; and, Alex remains single, unable to commit herself to one individual.

What else needs to be said? THREESOME’s kinky, deviant lifestyle speaks for itself as do the gasps of “gross!” exhibited by the audience during the homosexual scenes. In an era of rampant promiscuity, devastating AIDS and sexual confusion among the young, this is definitely a film which should have remained in the closet. How TriStar Pictures could be so irresponsible is the question of the hour. Someone should ask them.
