In the “Hearts Desire” episode of WHEN CALLS THE HEART, Abigail travels to Hamilton to find her new daughter-in-law. She gets unexpected help from Bill Avery, the man she had been seeing before she had a surprise meeting with a woman claiming to be Bills’ wife. Meanwhile, the crooked mayor in Hope Valley puts a stumbling block before the new lumber mill. Also, Florence Blakeley thinks she’s being driven to San Francisco by some men who want her to appear in a new play. The men stop the car and tell Florence they are taking her to their boss, who believes she’s stolen from him.
The “Hearts Desire” episode of WHEN CALLS THE HEART is a well-made, absorbing TV program. The suspense, plotting and acting are good. The whole family will feel comfortable watching this episode. Christian faith is also present as the new pastor prays over the town’s new lumber industry while holding a Bible. The pastor also does an effective job at witnessing to a non-believer. Media-wise families will be very pleased with the positive values in “Hearts Desire.”
