What You Need To Know:
WHAT DREAMS MAY COME probes the question, “Would you go to hell to rescue the person you love?” The story begins with a young doctor Chris, played by Robin Williams, meeting the love of his life, Annie. Thirteen years later, the married couple’s two children die in a car crash, and then Chris dies in a car crash. Chris is taken to heaven by an angelic guide named Albert, played by Cuba Gooding, Jr. When Anne commits suicide and goes to hell, Chris decides to rescue her, but, the powers of hell are strong, and he faces the possibility of being trapped there forever.
The good news is that this movie recognizes heaven, hell and a loving God. A great deal of the beautiful supernatural depictions seems to be inspired by artwork from Christian artists. However, WHAT DREAMS MAY COME fails to tell people the truth that the only way to heaven is through faith in Jesus Christ. Furthermore, the movie says that people can be reincarnated if they wish, an idea that contradicts the Bible. Also, while it does recognize God, it doesn’t depict Him on the throne of Judgment. Finally, the movie falsely accepts the possibility of rescuing someone from hell
