More Detail:
SECRET MILLIONAIRE is a touching reality series where a millionaire secretly goes into an impoverished community and discovers volunteer heroes, ultimately donating to their causes.
In the first Season Two episode, Dani Johnson of Knoxville, Tennessee, is a woman who once was on welfare but “bootstrapped” herself to be a millionaire. She goes undercover into a local community, where she discovers three volunteer agencies doing good in the community.
The first is the Love Kitchen, owned by two older sisters who operate a kitchen for homeless and also deliver meals to shut-ins. The second is a school where children receive free music lessons, even to the point where a promising teenager has received a music scholarship to a major university. The third is an organization that remodels bedrooms for gravely ill children. The people move Dani to donate much money to their causes.
SECRET MILLIONAIRE is well produced. Best of all, while many reality series often are somewhat sleazy, this series is very wholesome and uplifting. The only minor criticism is the Narrator is a bit monotone in his delivery.
This particular episode shows many examples of faith. Dani’s family prays before she heads out on the adventure. She reads and studies her Bible. The two Love Kitchen owners give great testimonies about God. For instance, one of the twin sisters/owners says that the Lord sent two sisters because there was so much to be done. She also tells how her father told her three things. “One, there’s only one father and that’s the Heavenly Father. Two, there is only one race and that’s the human race. And three, don’t take the last piece of bread because somebody else might need it.”
SECRET MILLIONAIRE is a great exploration of faith and love in action.
“The only thing that counts is faith in Jesus Christ expressing itself through love.”
– The Apostle Paul, Galatians 5:6, The New Testament.
