More Detail:
“The Upside Down” is the final episode of the first season of STRANGER THINGS. As Joyce and Hopper get closer to getting answers regarding Will and Eleven, they are taken in for questioning by the science lab, but Hopper is able to strike a deal with them. Nancy, Jonathan, and Steve try to personally battle the monster by setting traps all around the house and drawing it to them. The boys and Eleven hide out in their school, but the people at the science lab are able to track them down and come after them. Many elements are against them, so they have to do everything they can, using every possible weapon, to try to end these strange things once and for all.
“The Upside Down” is a great finish for the first season. It’s very exciting and captivating. This episode contains many positive elements and a strong moral, redemptive worldview. Some characters who had less than noble qualities choose to be heroic and selfless in this episode. The episode does have quite a few disturbing images and lots of violence because the whole episode is a case of good battling evil. There’s also some foul language. MOVIEGUIDE® advises strong or extreme caution for the violence and blood in the finale to the first season of STRANGER THINGS.
