In “Panic! At the Putt Putt,” Episode Eight of Season Three of ALEXA & KATIE, Alexa helps Katie take a break from studying for her SAT test by going miniature golfing, where Alexa unexpectedly runs into Spencer. ALEXA & KATIE: “Panic! At the Putt Putt” is delightful, funny and touching, and promotes helping your friends even when they don’t think they need it.
The episode begins with Alexa and Katie as they study for their SAT exams. Katie is stressing to the max, unsure of her ability to pull off a great score. Alexa tells Katie she needs to relax, so she takes Katie to play some miniature golf to blow off steam.
Meanwhile, Katie’s mom, Jennifer, is having trouble with her porch door that won’t open properly. A handyman comes over to fix it and does so until things all around the house keep malfunctioning. Clearly, something’s not right.
Alexa needs to enjoy putt putt golfing like Katie because she’s trying to forget about friend-zoning Spencer, a teenager who likes her and who has cancer. Katie keeps stressing and taking out her stress on putt putt. It’s clear she’s Type-A. When Alexa steps away for a brief moment, Spencer shows up and tells her he’s not mad at her for friend-zoning him. To his surprise, however, Alexa kisses him.
Back at Katie’s house, Alexa’s mother, Lori, comes clean that’s she the one behind all the malfunctioning at the house. She wants the handyman to ask out Jennifer because Jennifer deleted her dating app.
Cut to the SAT exam. Katie is under distress and has a panic attack that prevents her from taking the test. Thankfully, Alexa is there to comfort her in her time of need.
What will become of all the characters as Alexa and Katie enter the summer and their senior year of high school?
