More Detail:
THE CELLULOID CLOSET is a documentary presentation of the homosexual presence in movies over the last hundred years. It opens with famous actors, leading screenwriters and renowned producers telling us how powerful movies are because they show us how to live and love. Homosexuals were portrayed in movies prior to the enforcement of the Motion Picture Code in 1933. Often the portrayal was amusing, but just as often it was accepting. After 1933, the homosexual was portrayed as a villian, a sissy or a pervert and was usually killed by the end of the film. When the church abandoned Hollywood in the 1960’s, homosexuals came out of the celluloid closet. In the 1990’s, homosexuals became the heroes in movie like PHILADELPHIA and BIRDCAGE.
The film shows us that many men and women in Hollywood have used the movie medium to promote and propagate their sexual perversion. They understand the power of movies to persuade and have used it to do just that. Although this documentary is not salacious, it will be highly offensive to most moral Americans. However, the documentary makes us aware of how much all of these people need the simple Truth that would deliver them from their deception. These are talented people who need to know that God so loved them that He gave His only begotten Son to deliver them from self-destruction.
